AMDS is visiting. How does my child participate?

Please complete and return the consent forms to your child’s school (additional forms will be available via your school’s reception staff). A parent or guardian must sign forms.

What does a dental check-up include?

Each check-up appointment includes a comprehensive oral examination, removal of plaque and/or calculus, diagnostic x-rays, preventive fluoride treatment and a dental care plan. We also provide information to patients about the importance of maintaining great oral health.

What is the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)?

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) is a scheme run by Medicare that provides eligible children up to $1,000 over 2 calendar years to pay for a range of dental services for children aged between 2 -17 years.

To be eligible, you or the child must be claiming on of the following benefits: Family Tax Benefits – Part A, Parenting Payment, Abstudy, Youth Allowance, Carer’s Payment, Disability Support Pension, Special Benefits or Double Orphan Pension. To enquire if your child is eligible, please contact Medicare on 132 011. Once your child’s forms have been completed, we will individually check each child’s eligibility to see if treatment can be bulk billed through Medicare.

What if my child is not eligible under CDBS but we have private health insurance- can I claim your service?

Yes, depending on your level of cover most private health insurers, provide two free check-ups and cleans per family member check-up cleans per family member each year. After your child’s dental appointment our friendly reception team will organise full payment for the appointment, then send you an invoice to claim back through your private health fund.

What if my child is not eligible? How much will it cost to use your service?

Yes, we provide a discounted price of $99.00 for appointments made through your school. This includes a comprehensive check-up and clean, including any necessary x-rays and a protective fluoride treatment. Any additional treatment will be capped at Medicare pricing, making all dental treatment more affordable.
